01. What is online registration?
Online registration is an utility through which candidates can apply for RRB  Chennai examination over internet.
02. If I apply online, do I also have to post the application to RRB / Chennai?
Yes. After you print out the filled application form you have to write the declaration affix Left Thumb Impression, paste your recent photo and sign. This form along with the enclosure has to reach RRB  Chennai before 14/04/2008 , without fail.
03. Do I have to enclose anything with online application form?
Your printed online application form should be accompanied by IPO/DD for the requisite examination fees (for OBC/UR applicants) and the caste certificate (for SC/ST/OBC applicants). In case you are a government employee, No Objection Certificate issued by your department should be enclosed. For Ex-Service man, discharge certificate should be enclosed.
04. What is the significance of registration number?
The registration number is a unique number to identify your application. Hence the same to be quoted in all your future correspondence with RRB, Chennai.
05.What do I have to fill in the application printout after the online registration?
After the online registration you need to take a print out of the form. Then you should write the declaration in your running handwriting, affix your signatures and left thumb impression at appropriate spaces. You also have to sign the application form.
06. I am a final year student, appeared for the exam and awaiting result. I will complete        my studies before the written examination. Can I apply?
No. At the time of applying you should posses the prescribed minimum qualification for the post. Those awaiting results or not possessing the qualifying certificates at the time of applying will not be considered.
07. How do I pay my exam fees?
Exam fees should be paid by crossed demand drafts drawn on  Chennai  with a validity period of not less than six months. Fees can also be paid through crossed postal order. No other form of payment is accepted. Please keep your DD/IPO ready at the time of online registering.
08. How many photographs are required to apply?
You will require two passport size photographs taken recently (within a month earlier) to apply. One photo has to be pasted at the space provided on the application and the other is to be enclosed along with the application.
09. In case I have made a mistake in filling in my Date of Birth or education        qualification, or any other details, can it be corrected?
If you have detected the mistakes before clicking the save button you can make the changes using the edit option. No. Once you submit the application online you cannot change any of the information. So before you submit please check and re check the information.
10. What are the details to be written on the envelope before posting to RRB?
The Online Registration Number, Category No, the post applied for and your community should be mentioned on the envelope before posting to RRB.
11. What is the last date for submitting my online application?
Your printed application should reach RRB Chennai at the given address on or before  14/04/2008 by 18.00Hrs. For applicants who are residing abroad, Andaman, Nicobar and Lakshadweep Islands the last date for receipt of applications is 29/04/2008 by 18.00Hrs.
12. Will the examination also be conducted on line?
RRB reserves the right to conduct both online and written examination for any of the categories advertised. The call letter issued will specify whether examination will be held written or on line.
13. In case my application is rejected, will my examination fees be refunded?
No. The examination fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
14. I am unable to view or print the filled in online application form even after clicking the "Print application" button. What do i do?
There may be a pop-up blocker on your system that is blocking the print-out from opening. Remove the pop-up blocker and try again. You can use the 'Status/Print Application' button to go to the login page. Login using your registration number and date of birth and take print-outs of your application. You can print out your application from any system with a printer.
